VAMIC L. Gerald Roach Memorial Scholarship

The VAMIC L. Gerald Roach Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a Virginia resident pursuing a degree in Insurance or Risk Management. The scholarship honors the many years of dedication to our industry by L. Gerald "Jerry" Roach. Jerry served as president of the Mutual Assurance Society in Richmond for many years. He also was a tireless advocate for our industry on both state and national levels.

The Virginia Association of Mutual Insurance is pleased to announce that Andrew Johnston is this year's winner of the L. Gerald Roach Memorial Scholarship. Andrew is from Richmond, Virginia and is pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina. Congratulations Andrew!

If you are a Virginia resident currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Insurance or Risk Management, you may apply for the VAMIC L. Gerald Roach Memorial Scholarship by completing our application form and submitting it with a cover letter to one of our officers. The application deadline is Oct. 1st, with the award intended help pay Spring semester tuition.
